Welcome to Luxerion, Nebraska, the largest city in the state. That's right, the largest; we're not your typical small-town with big
secrets, we're just big all around. It's something of a magical epicenter, even, where magical and mundane collide in unexpected ways.
With everything from famous athletes, to vampire mafia leaders, to reborn gods running around, ACMA's got its hands full keeping
Luxerion in order. Luxerion International Academy offers mundane and magical students alike an impressive boost to their
educational resume-many businesses and companies have a high demand for LIA alumni. Whatever you're in Luxerion for, you'll
find it-and maybe a lot more, besides. 16+, 3.2.2 => 3.3.3.

Skylar lives in a reasonably nice house with his mother, and sometimes his uncle Kaspian. He has his own bedroom and they struggle far less these days than they once did. He no longer wonders if they're going to have to choose between certain bills and food, for example. He's a very grounded kid.
Skylar plays soccer and very occasionally skates.
Skylar was born to his mother back in Sweden. His father had decided he wanted nothing to do with her or Skylar anymore, and so he does not currently know his father. His mother raised him with the help of his grandmother and, sometimes, his uncle.
Skylar was extremely young when they moved to Billings, Montana - young enough that he only remembers Sweden from the occasional visit back there not from his youth. They struggled for the early years of his life - money was tight. But at least he had a home, and a family who loved him. Skylar will be forever grateful for the advantages he gained in life.
Uncle Kaspian was gone a lot - always skating. Skylar can, and does, appreciate that without Kaspian's career, life might have been much harder for them for much longer. That doesn't really make up for the fact that he misses his uncle all the time, and sometimes resents that it seems like the only way he's really ever going to get (and keep) Kaspian's attention is by following in his footsteps as a skater.
He grew up into a relatively popular kid - but most of Skylar's attention was focused on his friend, Rowan. They'd been friends for literally as long as he could remember, and he could always trust her to have his back when he needed her. In return, he tended to get snappy with anyone who thought she might make a 'fun' target for bullying.
And then Alison was transferred to Luxerion. Skylar resisted, of course, but in the end he didn't have a choice at all in the matter. He had all the typical teenager worries, about how his friends were going to forget him, and how hard it was going to be to start over in a new place. And what'll you know, Rowan really did stop talking with him.
This worried him more than it upset him mind, but eventually it slid into upset because it wasn't like she was answering him.
And you know, he sprouted magic on top of it, as a rather late bloomer. He's having a great time.
